How To Deal With Pickup Groups & Kids in CTF.

boaerjeu @ 04:18

"How To Deal With Pickup Groups & Kids in CTF. Skip to the end. I would have. I am curr farming Rep with Warsong (another 10-20 won games should get me to Honored), and I still get excited occasionally while playing CTF, though it has turned into a bit of a drudgery. Disclaimer: This was written from a Horde standpoint. Alliance got all the love in the beautiful scenery of the lowbie zones (and you got the Darkmoon Faire first) - so deal with it. You guys deserve having Paladins on your side. 1. People and kids in particular will play the game however they want to, occasionally no matter what you try to tell them. Let it go. If you can't stand losing, /afk out. Console yourself that the other side suffers from the same problems more often than not, unless they're all guilded (a rare sight indeed for lowbies like me). 2. There is no way to get people to drop their group and join the raid if they don't want to. Try to /yell occasionally and /t whoever DROP GROUP PST FOR INV - this usually works but not always - and even if it does work it might not be worth your time anyway. 3. As soon as you zone into a pickup situation - ASK IF THERE IS A GROUP formed already - quite often there is - but mostly there isn't, and the most experienced or most exasperated guy ends up shouldering the burden. Only once in 50+ games have I seen two groups split evenly - that sucked badly - and we didn't get it straight until a few minutes before we lost. This might work different in different brackets on different servers, though, since sometimes ppl know each other so well that the who's-gonna-do-what issues are already understood and solved.

4. MAKE RAID ASSISTANTS! As many as you feel comfortable with. They can help invite people who show up late - and while you are in the middle of a hair-raising battle you're not gonna pay attention to general chat or people yelling... I've had people yell and scream for 5min before I noticed. Raid Assistants are also supp to be able to move people b/n groups but I think this feature's been disabled. At least promote the highest-ranked person besides you. I like promoting everyone - that way when someone tells me to invite someone I can just tell them to do it themselves. Ok, that's not very nice, so I'll try to if I'm waiting on a rez timer (happens quite often for me) or not engaged in a life-or-death struggle. 5. If you join a CTF game in progress - quickly buff up or heal or w/e you usually do, check the score + who's playing - then pm any friend you have that's already there - or someone you know - and ask them who the raid leader is - this is A LOT more likely to get you a response than /yell INVITE PLS. Once you know who the raid leader is just pm them and all he has to do is right-click your name and hit 'Invite'. Better than the alternative of having people telling him who to invite - and him having to type out a name he's most likely never heard of, or can't spell right - or is 'Jonhnyawpqwrs' or some such. Btw short names ROCK. Pls someone report my name for being the rl Swedish name for Sweden, so I can change my name to 'Par' or some such. Once you have your invite - check map and figure out where you are needed.
wow gold Ask not what your group can do for you, but ask what YOU can do for your group. Or raid. Whatever - you get the point. wow gold 6. Buffing is nice. Traps and totems are nicer. mp3 Good pickup-raid healers are next-to-nonexistent. If you have the time - great. Prior to start there's no excuse unless you are busy inviting - and even then I usually manage to at least MotW everyone, and hopefully put Thorns on the Warriors and Shamans. wow gold Speaking of which I can't buff you if I can't see you - if you're down in the tunnel you ain't gonna get it. Hmmm... I just thought of something - I think I'll start making those +Spirit fires you can start." "The way Blizzard describes the arena can be a little confusing, so I wanted to make it a bit clearer here. buy wow gold Terminology Rank- How your team compares to other teams. If you are ""rank 1"", you are the best team in your battlegroup. Rating- Your team's ""score"". wow gold More on this later. If you have a rating of 1, your team is the worst team on the server (and ever created). Arena Points- The points you earn to buy things from the arena vendor.

All You Ever Want to Know About the Honor System.

boaerjeu @ 04:15

"Many months ago I started looking into the pvp system. I gathered data, tried to find more information as I was working toward a higher rank myself. I now feel that I understand the pvp system very well and I can make a definite post about its intricacy. This guide will attempt to explain how the pvp system works as a whole. How you gain rank, the important of standing, the impact of honor decay, and everything else. Credits: First thing first, credit where it is due. HighRfrequenC (from those very boards) was extremely useful in finding information. He eventually found a post on the main blizzard forum by Jargar from the Bloodhoof realm which had a metric ton of information about the pvp system. The reason why I am writting this guide is because Allakhazam simply doesn't have a guide on the topic and I'm hoping to have one guide with all the answers, rather then multiple forum threads. All the information in here mostly come from somewhere else and I've only gathered it into one guide and cross referenced the date with the one I had gathered. So with that being said, HighRfrequenC from Allakhazam, Jargar from Bloodhoof (even tho we never spoke), I salute you :), you guys did most of the work. Sources: thread.asp...post5286625 - Jargar's original thread. How do I gain rank. The quick answer is that you gain Rank by gaining Honor. Your amount of honor is then compared to all those on your faction on the server to determine your standing for the week. Depending on your standing you will then gain a certain amount of 'rating' point - the higher your standing, the more rating point you gain. You also lose some rating point to 'decay', as long as you gain more rating point from your standing then you lose from decay, you will progress into the pvp system.

As you reach a certain amount of rating point, you will be promoted to the next rank. That's the jist of it... but it truly doesn't explain all that much, now does it. I'll be breaking down the information above, and hopefully by the end, everybody will understand. How do I gain Honor. You gain rank by gaining Honor. There is couple way to gain honor: - Killing a player of the opposite faction within the proper level range (Any player who's level is not gray to you will yield honor). wow gold - Reaching certain milestone in a Battleground. All battleground score screen have a 'bonus honor' column, which show you how much bonus honor you have earned. Contary to popular belief, you do not need to stay until the game end to get that bonus honor - if it is the column, you've already earned it. wow gold - Turning in 3 Battleground token. On top of a reputation boost, it also give you a small honor bonus. It is important to note that lower level player get less honor from kill, less honor from Battleground objective and less honor from tokens. wow power leveling If you wish to maximise your honor gain, the first thing to do is to reach the level cap. " So... The best we can do is strike up a compromise between quality and performance. mp3 players Here is a list of a few of the settings and what I've learned from trial and error (and reading Blizz's Tech Support Forum): (Note - these settings are accessible within WoW. Hit Esc to bring up the menu, then choose video options) Full-screen Glow - This feature is only available on certain graphics cards. TURN IT OFF. wow gold It makes a slight difference in quality and has a very high cost in terms of system resources.
Unless you are dead set on having it on, turn it off! Terrain Distance - It is recommended that you set this at one notch above minimum. If your system is on the low end, set it to minimum. wow gold Setting this hgher than one notch over minimum has a very high cost in terms of performance, and it looks decent at min+1.

Mogrin’s Mausoleum of Tips and Tricks

boaerjeu @ 04:12

"ello travelers, adventurers, heroes and dwellers of Azeroth. Over the years, I have seen many lands, had many adventures, faced many dangers and enjoyed many triumphs. However, my true purpose has always been secrets. Yes, you heard right; secrets. I traveled the globe seeking masters of secrets and tips of the trades. After revealing their secrets to me, I made sure their secrets died with them (with the exception of my knowledge, of course). Their souls would wander the ethereal plane, however, so I needed a place for their corpses. Thus, my Mausoleum was built, where the keepers of the secrets dwell after death. I have decided to let you marvel in my magnificence as I reveal the secrets I have hoarded over the years, and I have now allowed entry to Mogrin’s Mausoleum of Tips and Tricks. As time goes by, I will reveal more secrets to help you on your journey in Azeroth. From UI Mods to money management and more. I trust that you will put them to good use. And if you ever have any secrets that you would like to share... there is always more room, in the Mausoleum. Raids Fire Resist: Molten Core. Molten Core requires Fire resist for a bunch of the bosses, and mostly for Ragnaros - the big baddie at the very end and the toughest guy to beat. On your server Auction House, there may be fire resistance rings on sale for cheap because they provide 10-20 fire resist, but have a low level requirement. To newbies, they look like trash that they are lucky to get a couple of gold for, but anyone needing that Fire-resist will appreciate low prices for those rings. Other items that give fire resist: Onyxia Key (neckpiece) UBRS Key Pair of Bracers (Drop off Lord Incendius, in Blackrock Depths, almost a guaranteed drop with different types including plate, mail, leather and cloth).

Libram of Resiliance offers a fire resist enchant. All class-specific books in Dire Maul begin a class quest which rewards the character with a class trinket and all trinkets include a fire resist bonus. *Be sure to check for any other fire resist gear suitable for your class BattleGrounds Warsong Gulch: When capturing the flag, Ninja type carriers excel at getting in and out with flags, Armor types can take the beating on the way back, and General types perform above average. Shamans have a speed buff but if they are being attacked while getting into it, they will have trouble getting it off, and they are vulnerable while running. Mages frostnova/blink spamming has been known to work well sometimes. Flag Carriers in WSG: Ninjas: Druid/Rogue Armor: Warrior/Paladin (Better as support, but Paladins with speed buffs can do above average) General: Shaman/Mage While any character CAN take the flag, you'll have more success using the types listed and getting it back to your territory safely. wow gold Each of the three battlegrounds have their own rewards. Casters can usually find some cheap items that restore both HP/Mana. The big thing is Bandages: They are available for ALL three battlegrounds and are 72 silver per 20, which is much cheaper then making Runecloth bandages (both heal the same - 2000 HP over 8 seconds). wow gold Also, if you are rank 6 or higher, you can buy Combat Health and Mana Potions from your respective PvP area (ex. That special instance in Orgrimmar across the Flight Tower that only Rank 6+ can enter). These potions are like 6 silver each, with a limit of holding five on you at a time, but are great for PvP. wow First few moments of a Battleground: When you first enter a Battleground, one of the most overlooked but key things is buffing.
If your class has a buff that is associated with it (Ex: Priest - Power Word: Fortitude, Mage - Arcane Intellect, Druid - Mark of the Wild.etc), toss it on fellow players as well as yourself. Sure, it can eat up mana and what not, but it will give your side a large advantage in the first clash in the middle. wow gold A fully buffed group is much more efficent then one without. On that note as well, self buffs and carrying the required reagents for your own abilities will boost your preformance as well. If your a Rogue for example, have at least Crippling Poisons on you at all time, Flash Powder is another essential, and Blinding Powder is always handy to have. Arathi Basin: Ninja Tip. mp3 player If you are a Rogue or Druid, or somehow otherwise hidden, you can try to ninja (which is a word meaning steal) a node by sapping or somehow crowd-controlling an enemy who is guarding the flag and stealing it. As a Rogue, look at where the major group of the opposing faction are and where they will be ressurecting after they die. Find a node that is quiet (away from the action) and study it. wow gold Look for any stealthers around, and time it right so that people who might ressurect at the graveyard leave before you attempt the steal. Use sap, and then hit the flag quick. Beware of Shadowmelded hunters and their stealth pets. "

Karazhan Key Guide

boaerjeu @ 04:08

"In an effort to help people along the way to getting attuned for Karazhan, especially you lazy folks, I'm putting together a walkthrough for the quest line. I'm going to try and make it as simple as possible, and where I can, I'll try and reference NPCs by map coordinates. (You will need some sort of addon to display map coordinates) In each section, click on the name of the quest for a link to Allakhazam's walkthrough page for that quest. #1 Arcane Disturbances & Restless Activity Starting NPC: Archmage Alturus (47,75) Location: Deadwind Pass Notes: Deadwind Pass is located east of Duskwood. Fly to Darkshire from Stormwind, and mount up. The NPC is located in the south end of Deadwind Pass. Archmage Alturus gives 2 quests, both of which must be completed to gain access to the next quest in the chain. #2 Contact from Dalaran Starting NPC: Archmage Alturus (47,75) Location: Deadwind Pass Notes: This quest sends you to talk to Archmage Cedric in Dalaran. Dalaran the big glowing dome located in Alterac Mountains, which is north from Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills. Archmage Cedric is located on the north side of the dome at location (15,54). #3 Khadgar Starting NPC: Archmage Cedric (15,54) Location: Dalaran, Alterac Mountains Notes: Archmage Cedric sends you to speak with Khadgar (54,44) in Shattrath City. Khadgar is the NPC that you speak with to start a tour of Shattrath City, eventually decide between the Aldor and Scryer factions. #4 Entry Into Karazhan Starting NPC: Khadgar (54,44) Location: Shattrath City Notes: Khadgar sends you to the Shadow Labyrinth to retrieve the first piece of the key. Get a group and make your way through the instance normally. The fragment is located behind the last boss of the instance, Murmur. You must open a container on a small ledge, behind and to the left of Murmur if you are facing him from the entry hallway.

When you open the container, an elite mob will spawn. It's an easy kill, especially if you have a full party with you. The fragment is found on his corpse. Head back to Khadgar in Shattrath City. #5 The Second and Third Fragments Starting NPC: Khadgar (54,44) Location: Shattrath City Notes: For the second fragment you will need to head to The Steamvault in Coilfang Resevoir. Near the first boss, there is a deep pool of water that you can swim into. There is a container that you can click on in the bottom corner of the pool. This will spawn a 70 elite monster, which drops the fragment. The third fragment is located in The Arcatraz instance of Tempest Keep. After you go up the ramp in the first boss room, there will be a room with voidwalker mobs. When you enter the room, the fragment is located on the right, in the corner of the room. As with the others, you must kill the spawn and loot the fragment from it. Now that you have the second and third fragments, head back to Shattrath City and speak with Khadgar. #6 The Master's Touch Starting NPC: Khadgar (54,44) Location: Shattrath City Notes: Khadgar sends you to get your key from Medivh in The Black Morass instance, located in the Caverns of Time. wow gold In order to gain access to The Black Morass, you must first have completed the Durnhold Keep event/instance. In order to get your key, you must complete The Black Morass event,Raiding Guild Woes and open the Dark Portal. After the event is completed, you can speak with Medivh and recieve the Master Key! Return to Khadgar in Shattrath City to finish things up, and he will send you to Karazhan, to begin the instance quests. wow gold Congratulations! You now have your Master Key and are ready to enter Karazhan.
Good luck. =)" The above is the good clean way to get your girl involved. world of warcraft gold Here is a last trick which I am sure can help - but I don't personally endorse (this disclaimer is in case my wife reads this =P): 1. If your part of a guild and have vent, play the chat through your external speakers instead of a headset so that your wife/GF can hear any female guild members talking - this will do two things: wow gold It will show her that other girls do play WoW (and that more girls play WoW than any other MMO in history), and she will feel a twinge of jealousy and protectiveness in that you are in game with other girls - she will want to protect her property - or at least you hope she does. In the end, you may or may not get your significant other involved. wow gold Either way, enjoy WoW, but enjoy RL as well - and don't let WoW ruin an important relationship. Even in the closest relationships it is a good thing to have hobbies or activities you can do apart from each other which are your own things. I am lucky in that my wife plays with me some, I don't push and am always grateful for what time she can give me in playing. mp3 player But if she didn't play at all, I would still play, and I would still love her just as much.

"Guide to Making Money Using AH & Multiple 'Toons

boaerjeu @ 03:39

"A guide to making gold using the AH and multiple 'toons. Character info for the writer: Name: Sephoslyfoot Lvl/Race/Class: 60 Undead Rogue Realm: Lothar Guild: Hikari No Senshi I've been doing this for a while now, and have found it to be a real gold-making proposition. If you are new to World of Warcraft and you need gold, here are some guides for you. First and foremost, start TWO characters. You're going to have a 'heaved'. This is the 'toon you enjoy playing the most, and are intending on levelling to 60. YOUR AH ALT Your other 'toon you are going to get to level 5, and then run them to your heaved alliance city. You might die on the way, refrain fighting, you just want to get to the heaved city. You are going to train this 'toon in Enchanting, and get them what is necessary to DISENCHANT things. This 'toon will need 10c to train as an Apprentice Enchanter, and MAYBE added 50c to get a copper rod and enchant it into a Runed Copper Rod. Don't get too engaged to this feature. He/she is just an Auction House alt. You will be sending things you cannot use on your heaved to this 'toon for them to sell on the Auction House. This keeps your heaved 'in the field' and earn gold while your AH Alt rakes in the proceeds and tries to make the most out of the stuff you find. More on that later. YOUR MAIN On your heaved you have some decisions to make regarding what PROFESSIONS you want to learn. There are lots of guides out there that describe each profession, research them, decide what you want to go with. However, a point of note: While there are a few exceptions, most of the crafting professions (Leatherworking, Tailoring, Blacksmithing etc) do not pay off in the end game.

The stuff you can make invariably ends up existence inferior to what you can pick up by raiding high-end instances with other players. There are some specialist items you can make, but the recipes for these items are VERY rare and hard to come by. Besides, there are OTHERS out there who ARE crafting things, and you can buy their stuff. So what you REALLY want is gold, and lots of it. To that end, forget crafting and get two of the gathering professions. Pick SKINNING plus one of these: Herbalism Mining Why Skinning no matter what. wow gold Because a LOT of what you kill can be skinned for free leathers. You get your monster loot, PLUS what you get from skinning. Double for nothing. wow gold Also, both Herbalism and Mining have a way for you to see on your mini-map when items to mine/pick are close by...but you can't have both running at the same time. It's meliorate to have one up ALL the time, so you don't miss anything. As a personal preference, I would take Herbalism over mining. world of warcraft gold It's easier to level, and stacks of even low-level herbs go for decent gold. There's one more, called Fishing that is considered a Secondary profession. No matter what, pick this one up, and spend some time levelling it, it's a free slot, like First Aid and Cooking. wow gold THAT'S ENOUGH TO BE GETTING ON WITH So now you have your heaved feature with Skinning, Herbalism/Mining, and Fishing. You're off now to undertaking! Essentially, from here on in, EVERY TIME you are near a mailbox you will be sending what you have gathered to your Auction House Alt. Build up full stacks if you can, but if it is even close to a full stack, send it to keep your bags free for new loot.
mp3 player If you took mining, don't forget to smelt the ore into exerciser first. Every herb you pick, every skin you have peeled, every node you've mined, and every piece of crap you pick up is now going to start putting gold into your pocket. How. wow gold Now, starting gold and bags. You need bags to put stuff in...there's nothing worse than going to the mailbox and seeing every the stuff your heaved has sent you, but not having enough room to carry it.

Jukaar's Complete Guide to Mining

boaerjeu @ 03:17

"Everything You Need To Know About Mining Things you should know before choosing to embellish a Miner: If your primary profession is either Blacksmithing or Engineering, Mining is practically a prerequisite. Both professions require materials that can only be acquired through Mining. You could choose to not take up Mining as your second profession, but consequently you'll have to spend an inpractical turn of gold on the materials you need to raise your Blacksmithing and Engineering. Mining is a great way to make gold compared to some other professions. Unless you intend to take up Leatherworking, Mining is a well profession to consider. The only way to make large amounts of gold through mining is by selling Arcane Crystals and Blood of the Mountain in the Auction House. Both of those items are extremely rare however, and you shouldn't embellish a miner solely to farm them. Your success with Mining will be supported largely on how lucky you are. I know people who have found 2 Arcane Crystals in one Rich Thorium Vein, while I've personally only found 1 in my whole career as a miner. You can make a decent turn of gold by selling the normal ore you find in some vein. However, how much gold you make will be supported largely on your server's population. If you play on a high population server, it will be a lot harder to find veins, and the prices for your ore won't be as high as they are on other servers. Unlike other professions, Mining is supported largely on luck. If you're the kind of person who loves to gamble, Mining is definitely for you. You never know if that next vein could hold a valuable gem, which adds a suspenseful and addictive number to it. I've personally stayed up far past my bedtime on several nights, because you never know...that next Rich Thorium Vein may have an Arcane Crystal inside.

The Basics of Mining (If you're already a miner, skip this section) First, you need to train in Mining. Below is a list of every the Mining trainers: Horde Trainers: Makaru - Located in the center of the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar. Brek Stonehoof - Located on the west edge of the center plateau in Thunder Bluff. Brom Killian - Located to the south of the bridge leading to the War Quarter in the Undercity. Alliance Trainers: Geofram Bouldertoe - Located in the Deepmountain Mining Guild in Ironforge. Gelman Stonehand - Located on the west side of the Dwarven District in Stormwind. Yarr Hammerstone - Located on the eastern edge of Kharanos in Dun Morogh. Dank Drizzlecut - Located slightly north of Gol'Bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh. wow gold Brock Stoneseeker - Located on the southwest side of Thelsamar in Loch Modan. Kurdram Stonehammer - Located in the northern ocean of Auberdine in Darkshore. Matt Johnson - Located in the northern section of Darkshire in Duskwood. wow gold Once you've embellish a miner, buy a Mining Pick, and start mining copper in one of the areas listed in the Advanced section of this guide. Before you start mining, don't forget to turn on the Find Minerals knowledge. This knowledge will make nearby mineral veins materialize on your minimap as a yellow dot. mp3 When you've collected some ore, smelt it into exerciser at some forge. Smelting your ore will make it more valuable and earmark you to use it when making items for Blacksmithing or Engineering. After awhile, the Copper Veins will turn grey, and you'll no longer be healthy to gain skill by mining them. wow gold When this happens, you'll need to move on to the next tier of ore. Check the lists in the Advanced section of this guide to see which kind of ore you need to mine at your skill level, and how much skill you need to smelt it.
You will stop gaining skill points when you reach the maximum skill level for your rank, so make sure you talk to a trainer when you've maxed out your skill. buy wow gold " "Now you’re ready to skill up to 75 so you’ll need a fishing pole. We recommend you also grab some bobbers, lures and other stuff that will earmark you to unnaturally raise your fishing skill, such as the +fishing to gloves enchant (usually beauty cheap). So take that brand new fishing pole and go find a pond, lake, or ocean. wow gold What you can also do is head to the heaved section in Thunderbluff and use the pond there if you're a hordie like myself. Much easier and less chance of something nasty deciding you are the next meal.
